Dicetron: a roguelike dice game built on Yamb

Roll six dice, fill the scorecard and hit the round's target before you run out of cells. Then spend what you earned on upgrades that bend the rules. Fifteen rounds, eleven bosses, one run at a time.

How it plays

Dicetron starts from Yamb, the Balkan dice game related to Yahtzee: up to three rolls a turn, hold what you like, and write the result into one cell of a scorecard. Every turn is a choice between the cell that pays now and the cells you will still need later.

Beat the target

Each round has a score to reach. Hit it and the round ends; fall short with the board full and the run is over.

Two columns at once

A free column sits beside a constraint column: fill it top-down, bottom-up, or announce your row after the first roll.

Three strikes

A zero is a cross. Three crosses in a round end the run, so every risky roll has a price.

Build between rounds

A shop after every round sells relics, echoes, masteries, die enhancements and consumables. No two runs build the same.

The run

A run is five games of three rounds each. Targets climb every round, and the third round of every game is a boss round. Credits come from clearing rounds, from cells you leave empty, and from interest on what you save, so a fast finish and a full wallet both pay.

Relics

Permanent rule changes: an extra roll each turn, an extra cross, more echo slots, cheaper shops.

Echoes

Conditional score multipliers that level up when you buy them again, like Yamb Fever, Ladder and Six Sense.

Masteries

Flat bonuses on the rows you favour. Upper masteries also raise the stakes on the upper-section bonus.

Enhanced dice

Heavy, Glass, Fuse, Prism and more: each die can carry one enhancement for the rest of the run.

Bosses

Every boss bends one rule for a single round. Five of the eleven turn up in each run.
